New Recordings

The recordings of The Enroaching Clouds and Nocturne are now up on Soundcloud.

The Encroaching Clouds was performed by Reverb Brass twice at their Adam’s Rib concert series in London and Toronto, Canada this past February and March. Nocturne was read in a workshop by Vancouver’s MusicaIntima, a fantastic chamber choir that specializes in contemporary repetoire.

If you want to hear my music live, The Encroaching Clouds is being performed this April at the Roya Conservatoire of The Hague’s Spring Festival, along with a new work of mine for mezzo-soprano, cajon, and cello, entitled Cancion I: Vals Criollo.

New Launch & Other Things

Welcome to my new website! I’m now hosted on wordpress.

The date has come and passed for the premiere of my work, The Encroaching Clouds. The talented Reverb Brass played a great programme including works by James MacMillan, myself, and fellow composer Aiden Hartery, who I met while studying at the University of Toronto. A recording will be posted in the coming days.

My work, Nocturne, for choir, was recently read and workshopped by Musica Intima, a fantastic Vancouver-based choir. I skyped in for the session. In The Netherlands, two of my miniatures for quintet were read by the Oerknal! ensemble. The reading session was organised by The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, and involved two 4 hours sessions with the musicians.

Finally, I have been commissioned by saxophonist Suvi Linnovaara to write a work for soprano saxophone for the second annual Tamperinging Music Festival. I have been previously commissioned by Tampering to write a work for the inaugural festival last August. I am delighted to have the opportunity to return to Finland for this.
